The University of Iowa
Piano Pedagogy Department
Welcome to the Piano Pedagogy website of the University of Iowa, School of Music. You will find information relating to all aspects of the piano area: faculty, students, teaching assistants, degree programs and requirements, technology, and guest artists among other things.
The piano area at The University of Iowa offers a vibrant, exciting atmosphere, with the highest standards in performance and pedagogy. Piano majors are taught by a nationally and internationally renowned faculty, participate in our annual Piano Festival and are involved in one of the countries strongest and most active Collegiate Chapter of the Music Teachers National Association.
A core mission of our program is to prepare our students for their professional careers with a well-rounded education in teaching and performance, both as soloists and as collaborative artists.
I would like to invite you to visit Iowa City and experience for yourself why our piano program is one of the finest in the country. You are welcome to visit classes, tour the music building, and meet with faculty and students.
If you are a prospective student, please take a few moments to browse our website.
