At Primetime, we adhere to the journalistic writing style outlined in The AP Stylebook. Although we leave the specific format of each piece up to the writer, we do ask that the following be applied to Primetime submissions:
- 750 - 1,000 word length
- Written in the third person
- A brief description of the interviewee's title or position at the internship
- Quotes from two or more sources besides the interviewee (an employer, coworker, internship supervisor, etc.)
Additional Suggestions:
The main focus of the story will be on the internship: how the person heard about it, what steps she took to land it, her responsibilities there and the employer's expectations. Additionally, you may wish to consider these additional questions:
- How did the job interview for the internship go?
- What connections did the intern make on the job that could help down the road?
- What was the most rewarding part of the internship?
- How might the intern apply the experience gained there to future jobs?
- Was there anything the intern might have done differently?
