Multicultural Studies and Leadership Learning CommunityThe Multicultural Studies and Leadership Learning Community provides an opportunity for students to learn about different American cultural groups, and develop leadership skills by blending theory and practice. Students will undertake a service learning project addressing a need in one of Iowa’s cultural communities. Students will identify an issue, research needs, and work together to develop and implement a strategy to address the need. Through these efforts students will hone their research and problem solving skills while gaining experience in working with community leaders and diverse groups. This learning community has 40 co-ed spaces, and requires enrollment in a year-long, two-credit course. Answers to frequently asked questions may be found in the program flyer (pdf). For further information about the learning community contact: leadership-learning@uiowa.edu.
