Programs for Middle School StudentsWhile most students begin preparing for college in high school, studies have shown that many students can benefit a great deal from earlier college-related experiences and exposure. Towards this end, Opportunity at Iowa supports two programs for middle school students.
College Prep Guide Preparations for college are beginning to occur earlier and earlier in a student's academic career. From financial considerations to areas of study to academic preperation, late-elementary and middle school can be the right time to start thinking about and planning for college. Information for ParentsConsidering college for your child is a daunting prospect for any parent, even those who've gone to college or sent older kids to college already. It's hard to imagine them on their own and away from home. At the same time, though, it seems like just yesterday they were falling asleep in their oatmeal—the time between now and high school graduation will probably go by just as quickly. Support from parents can prove a critical factor in a student's collegiate success.
