Opportunity at Iowa Scholarships
Opportunity at Iowa Scholarships are awarded to incoming first-year students from under-represented populations who have:
- an ACT composite score of 25 or better (1130 combined SAT Critical Reading & Math) and a high school rank in the top 30% of their high school class
- OR a high school cumulative grade point average of 3.5
- OR have a University of Iowa Admissions Index of 130 or higher.
Eligible students are automatically considered for this scholarship, but must apply for other financial aid by completing all of the required forms for need-based financial aid through the Financial Aid Office. In addition to the monetary award, OI Scholars have available to them a range of services and opportunties beyond what is available to the average UI student.
Services for OI Scholars
Opportunity at Iowa monitors the academic progress of all OI Scholars on a semester basis to help determine the annual status of scholarship renewal. If you are a recipient of the Opportunity at Iowa Scholarship, and have questions about meeting scholarship requirements for annual renewal, contact Nancy Humbles, (319) 335-2092.
