At last year’s Ice Cream Social and Student Activities Fair, a new undergraduate chatted with representatives of one of many student organizations. The event, which will take place this year from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sept. 5, at Hubbard Park across from the Iowa Memorial Union, is just one of the Weeks of Welcome (WOW) activities designed to introduce students to life both on and off campus. Other activities include a welcome cookout, downtown street festival, community service fair, a chance to dine with some of Iowa’s faculty and staff, and evening events that include athletic activities and Hawkeye One Hundred, the University’s own version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
