Maggie Rochelle, a lecturer in the School of Art and Art History, spent the summer working with senior art student Shara Rowley to uncover decorative painting of the 1940s from the walls of the Englert Theatre in downtown Iowa City. The 1912 building is undergoing restoration. Here Rochelle uses a toothbrush, one of many tools required to remove the top layers of paint.
