Here's how to get around safely at night.

SafeRide Buses

SafeRide buses provide service on Friday and Saturday evenings until 2:30 am. The buses follow Cambus routes around campus and to all residence halls. Like all Cambus services, it’s free and convenient, and it really beats walking home alone.

SafeRide Van Service

One SafeRide Van begins service at 10:30 p.m. from Schaeffer Hall/Old Capitol Mall. This van will take students to any location in the Iowa City/Coralville area that is not serviced by the SafeRide buses. The van’s final departure time from Schaeffer Hall is at 1 a.m.

Blue telephones

Purchased with a gift from the Parents Association, these emergency phones around campus link a caller directly with Public Safety.

SafeWalk

SafeWalk is a student-run escort service that students may call late at night if they would like someone to walk them home.
