The Parents Association is responsible for two of the busiest computer terminals on campus. The terminals, located on a well-worn path between the Union Pantry and the IMU Bookstore in the Iowa Memorial Union, are popular with students because they can use them to access their e-mail quickly. In a few minutes between classes they can reply to Mom, trade jokes with a friend, read a professor's critique of a paper, and find a ride home for the holidays.

The terminals are popular with the University's computer laboratories, too, because they cut the number of students who come into labs to check e-mail, tying up computers that other students need to write papers or do calculations for classes.

The Parents Association purchased the two terminals as a gift to University students. Earlier, the association was instrumental in placing blue emergency phones around campus that allow quick calls to campus security. These gifts came from the Parents Fund.
