The
name of Iowa’s traditional Parents Weekend has been changed to Family
Weekend following a unanimous student vote. "We still will be honoring
parents and aiming activities at them, but we wanted to include nontraditional
families, siblings, and grandparents in the mix," says Julie Williams,
Alumni Association coordinator.
On Saturday, the
Hawkeye football team will be playing Ohio State. Family Weekend also
offers a chance to see your student, attend the Stepping Up tailgate,
talk with President Mary Sue Coleman, and participate in a number of other
activities.
This year the weekend is Oct. 20-22. Information packets will be mailed
to you in early September. Look for special information on hotel reservations.
