Announcement - eBuy Coming Soon!

The Purchasing department is pleased to announce the upcoming release of eBuy in May of 2009, the latest in our series of strategic procurement tools.

With the University facing budget cuts and looking to reduce spend where ever possible, strategic procurement is necessary and being implemented in procurement departments across the nation.

eBuy, a SciQuest Spend Director module, has proven success, already implemented at 7 of the Big 10 Universities.

eBuy will streamline the ordering process and assure the best products at the best price are available in the most efficient manner.

Instead of searching the Internet or physically shopping, campus users will log into eBuy, an “Amazon.com” like environment and search for needed products from competitively bid primary contracts; providing the products to campus at the best price in a timely fashion.  Electronic catalogs replace the huge paper catalogs – placing pricing information at the fingertips of researchers and supporting our sustainability efforts for a greener campus.  Automating the source to settlement process with software solutions enables our institutions to utilize best practices, dramatically reduces redundant tasks, maintains data integrity through the entire procurement cycle and enables total spend visibility resulting in what’s to be expected substantial cost savings.

Office supplies, computers, hardware, and scientific consumables are a few of the supplier provided commodities to be made available in eBuy

eBuy will be the primary source for Office Max supply orders, replacing the current General Stores, MIGS ordering process to be decommissioned June 30th, 2009.

In preparation for eBuy’s release, instructor lead training has been scheduled across campus.  Click here for details.  Training material will be available prior to release.

Please visit the eBuy website to learn more about this exciting initiative and which other suppliers will be included.
