I wanted to give you another update on the status of the University of
Iowa's advertising contract with The Chronicle of Higher Education.
Iowa agreed to a 24-time contract. By doing so, Iowa agreed to place
a minimum of 24 print display ads within a 12 month period with The Chronicle of
Higher Education. Because of this high level of commitment, The Chronicle
rewarded each ad, as they were submitted, with a reduced rate (a 15% or 20%
discount on each ad).
To date, the University of Iowa has only placed 8 ads toward the 24 ad
minimum agreement. Your contract expires August 24, 2004 which means Iowa
has approximately 11 issues remaining to place 16 print display ads.
After looking at your web site,
http://hris.uiowa.edu/jobline/pands/,
there are definitely positions available at the University of Iowa. More
specifically, there are definitely positions available that should be advertised
in The Chronicle.
Should Iowa not meet the minimum number of ads, we would have to issue a
short-rate. Because you placed at least 6 ads, we would only short-rate
back to that discounted level (saving 5% on each ad instead of 15%). Right
now (if no more ads are placed) the short-rate amount would be about $900.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I'm happy
to assist the University of Iowa in any way I can.

Eric D. Zack
