Current University of Iowa Bid Opportunities

The Purchasing Department now issues and receives bids through an on-line bid system.  Registered eBid vendors realize several benefits:

  • Free vendor registration
  • Email notification of available bid opportunities
  • Ability to respond to bids online from any computer
  • A calendar of upcoming bid opportunities available for viewing
  • Savings of time, money and effort

ALL vendors — even those currently in our vendor file — will need to register to participate in any upcoming bid.

Once you are on the eBid site, select New Supplier/Vendor Registration and begin the registration.  You will be notified once the registration has been processed.  Failure to register may result in missed bid opportunities.  Click here for detailed Supplier instructions.

Suppliers do not need to register to view bid opportunities, but must be register in order to participate/respond.   Bid responses will only be accepted via this electronic means of transmission.  Paper bids will not be accepted.

RFQ/RFP specifications and procedure questions should be directed to the Purchasing Agent indicated on the RFQ/RFP.  If the vendor chooses not to contact the Purchasing Agent, then the vendor is solely responsible for checking eBid for changes.

Although not required for suppliers wishing to respond to RFQ’s and RFP’s on the eBid system, The University of Iowa Vendor Application Form is required before a supplier can actually do business with the University. The completed form may be returned via fax to 319-353-2064, sent by email to purchasing-vendor@uiowa.edu or mailed to the following address:

It is the supplier's sole responsibility to check eBid daily for addendums and/or amendments to posted bid opportunities.
