Quill and Scroll sponsors a number of writing, newspaper and yearbook competitions each year.
Writing and Photo Contest
2007 American Society of Newspaper Editors, Quill and Scroll International Writing, Photo Contest
Currently enrolled high school students are invited to enter the International Writing, Photo Contest. Awards are made in each of the 12 divisions. Winners will receive Quill and Scroll's National Award Gold Key and, if seniors, are eligible to apply for one of the $500 Edward J. Nell Memorial Scholarships.

Yearbook Excellence Contest
Winners of the Taylor and Quill and Scroll 2006 Yearbook Excellence Contest are eligible as seniors to apply for one of the Edward J. Nell Memorial Scholarships. This contest is co-sponsored annually by one of the following yearbook companies: Herff-Jones, Jostens, Taylor and Walsworth. Any member school is eligible to enter each regardless of which company published the year book in any given year.
