James Erwin has been playing for Iowa since late 1993, when he joined a young and very, very raw College Bowl squad. He received a BA in history a while back and since then has been closing in on an MA in urban planning and geography. This is, sadly enough, the best existing photograph of Mr. Erwin.

His specialization is cripplingly obscure history. (Note to aspiring players: for some reason, no one on the circuit knows anything about ancient Rome. Bone up on that and you're guaranteed a free buzz in every ACF tournament.) His other specialization is Rat Pack tunes. Think that's ever come in handy? No. There is no God.
