This mirror of the RC Cola Classic will be a non-packet submission tournament.  If you would like to submit a packet, however, you will receive a discount.  Packet submissions and packet questions should be directed to UTC’s Charlie Steinhice (steinhic@bellsouth.net).  

UIAQC will also be hosting a mirror of UTC’s Moon Pie Classic Academic Tournament on Saturday, April 24.  If you would like to come to either (or both) mirrors, please contact Andrew Juhl (dr_pookman@yahoo.com).

ELIGIBILITY:

The tournament field is open to anyone wishing to play.  Teams composed of collegiate Quiz Bowl players, Masters players or hybrid teams (from different schools) are all equally accepted.  Again, the UIAQC motto applies: “You got a strong back, we can use ya.”

FEES: (Subject to change, but base fee will not be +$70)

Base team fee is $50. (Minimum fee with all discounts: $25**)

Discounts:

• Second team: -$5/team
• Third team: -$10/team
• Fourth+ teams: -$15/team
• Working buzzer system: -$5***

Penalties:

• An uncollectable fee of $250 will be retroactivelyassessed to any team who doesn’t want to come.

Note: We are not holding this tournament to make money, but to bolster club proficiency at hosting tournaments and to increase UIAQC’s reputation and standing in the Quiz Bowl community.  If you would like to attend, but have financial concerns, we are more than willing to barter/trade favors in order to see your (club’s) attendance at this event.

SCHEDULE:

Registration will be from 8:00am-9:00am on Saturday, April 24, with play commencing soon thereafter.

PRIZES:

Prizes will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placing teams and top individual scorers.  In addition, a Hawkeye shot glass will go to the “player” with the worst neg.
