My broad area of study is American Religious Thought. Most of my research involves early twentieth century liberal Protestantism, particularly as religious thought shapes social and political stances. My M.A. thesis at Yale Divinity School explored liberal and neo-orthodox discourse on violence and economics in the period between World Wars. I often venture into the waters of American pragmatism, too.
If I'm not reading, I'm probably out riding my bike--the lonely two-lane highways outside of Iowa City make for great diversion and exercise. |
