My general area of interest is the role of the body in fulfilling religious goals. Currently, my dissertation proposal is to look at the ways in which Quaker abilities to deal with change, honed by their experiences of persecution in their native England, eased their relations with Native Americans.
I grew up in Texas. I then went to undergrad at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, where I majored in Religion with a Classics minor. I spent a year as a reporter for the daily newspaper in Jacksonville, Illinois, before making my way to Iowa City. |
