Bridget Harris Tsemo joins us from the University of Illinois at Chicago where she studied the African American Literary and Rhetorical Tradition and Race and Class Issues in American Literature.

Presently, she is focusing on the rhetorical work of African American women writers at the turn of the century. Her other academic interests include contemporary African American film and music, cultural studies, and issues surrounding composition studies.  In addition to her academic interests, she also contributes to scholarship in public spheres outside of academia.

For the next few years, she will teach undergraduate introductory courses in Rhetoric.  She is, however, in the process of developing a course where she investigates the evolution of African American criticism.
