Minutes from UISC Executive Meeting on Wednesday, 1/18/05 in the Purdue Room,

Room 341 in the IMU

The meeting was called to order by commodore Ben Miller-Todd at 7:50 p.m.

There were 12 people attending.

I. Office Reports:

    A. John Huntley, Former Secretary:

        i. John first wanted to say goodbye and thank you to former executive

advisor Lauren Trolley and to welcome new executive advisor Lindsey Schneider.

ii. New copies of the Ship's Customs were made and given to new

officers.  The Ship's Customs should be updated every year.

iii. John volunteered to be club historian and Scuttlebutt editor.

He is concerned that we are not updating our members and former members

enough.  In the next Scuttlebutt there will be the pictures of the new

officers and a 500 word statement about the new officers and what they will

bring to the position.

II. Old business:

    A. Old executive officers need to give new officers their keys to the

executive cabinet.

III. New business:

    A. As of now, only current executive members can vote.  John Huntley

suggested appointing a few ex. Officials who will be able to vote.

    B. We still need to get audit forms so Phil Jones (the dean of students)

does not make our $20,000 “disappear.”

    C. There have not been any new skippers lately.  John Huntley will have

three “interruptions” during the cruising class for other one-night classes,

one of which will be about the qualifications needed to become a skipper.

    D. The skippers test should be updated.  An old test was found that is

much harder than the current one.

    E. We should get more club members working with executive officers.

IV. Announcements:

    A. The heaters in the boathouse are not working right.  Dave Steinman and

Daniel Rogge will try to repair them and will call Wayne Fett if they are

unable to repair them.

Meeting adjourned at 8:05.
