Campus Accessibility

Our staff is familiar with the full range of campus and community transportation services available to people with disabilities. We work with students one-on-one to determine the best way to meet their particular needs. If you have specific questions, please contact us at (319) 335-1462.

Campus Bus Service

The University of Iowa operates a free bus service (CAMBUS) with routes throughout campus. All buses in the University fleet are equipped with wheelchair lifts. Route maps and schedules are available online.

Bionic Bus

CAMBUS also operates the Bionic Bus, a specialized transportation service for students, faculty and staff with disabilities. It is a demand-response, curb-to-curb service provided with lift-equipped mini-buses. People interested in arranging for service need to submit an eligibility application available online for download on the Cambus site. For more information, see Parking and Transportation Services.

Parking

All public parking facilities on The University of Iowa campus have designated parking spaces for people with disabilities. Use of these spaces requires either a permanent or temporary handicap placard issued by a state government or a handicap license plate. For more information, see the Parking and Transportation web site.

Accessible Entrances

Campus building accessibility information is available on the University map site.
