Information for Prospective Students

We welcome your application to the University of Iowa! Please contact the University of Iowa’s Office of Admissions at (319) 335-3847 or visit their website for information on admission requirements.

Working with Student Disability Services

We know there are many factors involved in making an informed college choice. Our staff is available to help you with your decision. Though we cannot discuss your specific needs until you have officially accepted an offer of admission to the University, we are happy to answer general questions about campus resources at anytime.

Getting Started - Registration Process

Once you have accepted an offer of admission from the University, you may formally apply for services from our office. Students interested in receiving services from our office need to:

1. Be admitted and decide to come to The University of Iowa.

2. Arrange for disability evaluation. Make sure materials are complete, current, and consistent with our documentation requirements. See Documentation Guidelines.

3. Complete the Request for Documentation and Services Review form. Submit this form anddocumentation to Student Disability Services for evaluation.

4. Make an appointment for an intake interview once classes have begun and you have attended each class. Please bring all class syllabi to the appointment.

Confidentiality

Information provided to our office is considered confidential. It will only be released with the signed consent of the student or the student's legal guardian. On rare occasions when the welfare of the student or another individual is concerned, a staff member may elect to disclose information without consent. Our staff makes every effort to follow federal guidelines designed to protect student privacy.
