Shire of Shadowdale Armorial
Everyone in the SCA has the option to register a device and display these at SCA events. The device must be unique within the SCA and may not conflict with major existing devices in the modern world, medieval history, or major works of fiction (such as arms attributed to King Arthur). The devices are described according to a standardized language so that anyone conversant in the language can draw and recognize the device. Some local shire members have registered their names and devices. (You must register your name before (or at the same time) you register your device. Your device can be called arms after you have received an award of arms.)
