Awards Received by Shire Inhabitants

The King and Queen have the privilege and responsibility of being able to recognize people's achievements by giving them various awards. The highest level awards are the patents of arms, which are bestowed upon peers. There are three equal types of bestowed peerage; chivalry (for martial prowess), laurel (for expertise in the arts & sciences), and pelican (for dedicated service). There are also Royal peers, people who have become peers due to having served as King, Queen, Prince, or Princess. The bestowed and royal peerages exist in all kingdoms.

Each kingdom also has specific awards. In Calontir, there are two steps below each bestowed peerage, a grant and an award of arms. The following chart gives a quick guide to the awards.
