1. To change your screen resolution to 1024 by 768 pixels: On Windows machines, this information is found in the control panel. On Macs, open the "Apple Menu" then "Control Panels." Select "Monitors" or "Monitors and Sound." Note: resolution sizes of 800 x 600 and 1280 x 1024 are also fine for this website - you just may need to scroll a bit more or be willing to read smallish type.

2. To see what version of your Web browser you have, open your browser, and look under the "Help" menu. Information about free upgrades to higher versions is also there.

3. To hear sounds that accompany some of the explanatory material: your computer must have a sound card and software that will play the audio files. Most newer computers came equipped with these features. All of the audio files in Voice Academy are wav files. You may notice when clicking on an audio link, you may have to wait a moment while your player opens and the file downloads.

4. To see the video samples sprinkled through the site, you need either Media Player or Real Player. The Media Player is part of the Microsoft Windows software. Our movies are in version 7. You can grab a free Real Player from the website www.real.com. You may need to carefully search the website to find the the link, but the RealOne Player can be downloaded to your computer free of charge.

5. To view and interact with files that are pdf's (portable document format), you need an Adobe Reader installed on your computer. Like the other tools, the reader is available free from a website. Go to www.adobe.com for full instructions.
