Costs
The cost of the consolidated health fee is $101 per semester (07-08 rate). Students enrolled for more than 4 semester hours automatically pay this fee. This fee allows students access to the SHS to see a doctor with no office visit charge as many times during the semester as he/she needs. This fee also covers health promotion services including fitness assessments, nutrition counseling, etc. Patients do have to pay for lab tests, supplies, physicals, immunizations, procedures (such as wart removal) and other costs.
If there are charges at a SHS visit, SHS accepts cash, U-bill payments, or they will file with your insurance company. For insurance claims, you should provide a card or copy of the insurance company name and number. Any charges not covered by insurance will be placed on the U-Bill.
Are you enrolled for 0-4 semester hours?
If you are enrolled for less than 5 hours, you aren't automatically charged the health fee. You can still receive inexpensive, quality health care through SHS. Students who do not pay the health fee are charged for each office visit, in addition to any lab tests, supplies, and immunizations.
