So we
made it to a second issue - quite a feat in the publishing world. This
month's SMACK! features the work of students graduating this spring with
Honors in the English department. Students graduating with Honors work for
two semesters on a major research and writing project - a Senior Thesis.
These students work closely with faculty in developing an argument,
searching for information to back up that argument, and then writing and
revising and revising again to create a work that is representative of
their Undergraduate education here at the University of Iowa. Please visit
our Essays section to read some excerpts from the Theses
of graduating Seniors.
Look for a new issue of SMACK! an online literary magazine on August 1. We will be taking an extra month in preparing the next issue to make some design modifications. And to enjoy summer in Iowa City. (We're compulsive - but not that compulsive.)
