Undergraduate Sociology Program

|
|
A central part of the undergraduate
program is an advising system that emphasizes three main
principles.
|
|
A. Announcing. Students come
to sociology as entering freshman, though not commonly. The
bulk of majors are transfers from other majors, transfers
from community colleges, or students looking for a good
quality generic pre- major. As such, we believe it is
important to provide early descriptions of all aspects of
our program as described in this web format.
|
|
B. Monitoring. Students change
plans in mid-student career. Our advisors see each
sociology major each semester and plan with them steps
toward the degree, and career plans.
|
|
C. Completing. As many themes
of our undergraduate program display, we value students
completing the degree in a timely fashion. Also, our
advisors work with students to make expedient plans for
graduate school applications and for refinement of
credentials for competition for jobs.
