Undergraduate Sociology Program

|
|
As described in part III of the
overview, after graduation we, the department, and the
students continued to be tied. The student rightfully
should expect to draw on our advice and letters of
recommendation; and his or her future is helped or hindered
by degree from the persistent quality of our department.
We, as a department, with warrant should attempt to elicit
information from graduates in the interest of evaluating and
developing programs in the department into the future.
|
|
We systematically collect these kinds
of indirect data and make them available on this website.
|
- We require students at graduation to complete a
short post-questionnaire that asks about employment
plans, graduate school plans; and also elicits
suggestions for the department. A copy of this
questionnaire is found
here. Each year, data are compiled
to show: immediate employment, graduate school
admission; or employment, graduate school, and travel
plans.
|
- Upon incorporating the Capstone Course, we have
found a very valuable traffic of correspondence from
recent graduates (who did the portfolio and took the
Capstone Course). We are keeping an archive of
these observations.
