I am originally from Des Moines, IA but decided to move outside of Iowa and out of my comfort zone by attending a university where I knew no one. I received a BA in both Psychology and Sociology (with a law, criminology, and deviance concentration) from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 2007.

After completing my undergraduate work, I decided to get some real life experience and did so by working as a youth counselor with a residential treatment center. I worked primarily with delinquent boys and the work has only furthered my interest in social psychology as well as law, crime, and deviance, which I hope to continue to explore at Iowa.

Outside of school I really enjoy exercising, watching movies and watching college wrestling and ultimate fighting. Cheerleading is my ultimate passion and I have been lucky enough to both cheer competitively as well as coach competitive cheerleading for the past nine years. I cheered for the University of Minnesota and this combined with coaching has allowed me to travel all over the United States and teach others what I love.
