Flint J. Neidenthal

In 2005 I graduated from Truman State University with a B.A. in philosophy and religion and a minor in psychology.  After two years working as a restaurant manager I dove back into the world of academia, beginning my graduate school journey at the University of Kansas, where I completed my Masters in religious studies with an emphasis on method and theory.  While there, I explored the conversion narratives of women entering Orthodox Judaism in an attempt to understand the power of ritual to shape and signal commitment to a community, an identity, and a way of life.  In the Fall of 2009 these interests led me to the Sociology Department at the University of Iowa, where I concentrate in social psychology and organizations with special attention to collective action, social movements, identity, trust, and social capital.
