Randee Fieselmann

Visiting Assistant Professor

Her research interests include broadening the scope of attribution theory for studies in the sociology of knowledge. She examined sixteen years of research studies on teenage pregnancy to learn how female and male scholars differed in their attributions of teenage pregnancy, and how these differed across the disciplines of the researchers. Randee is also interested in the effects of social context on success, as presented in biographies. She hopes to begin a study on status as a reason for collecting. She teaches Introduction to Sociology, Social problems, American family, and Women and Society. Her teaching focus is on multiple forms of student learning and individual projects, such as class presentations and film reviews. In addition, she incorporates service learning into her social problems class, where students learn from volunteering at the Food Pantry and Habitat for Humanity.
