Samantha Cumley
I graduated from the University of Montana in Missoula in 2005 with a BA with a double major in Sociology and Anthropology. Within those disciplines I studied Criminology and physical Anthropology. After graduation, I stayed in Missoula (those of you who’ve been there know how hard it is to leave) and went into the MA program in the department of Sociology at UM. In the spring of 2007, I graduated with an M.A. in Sociology, with concentrations in Criminology, Substance Use and Alternative Religions. I began my graduate career at the University of Iowa in the fall of 2007. My main areas of interest are in Criminology and Gender.
In my spare time I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, running, Nordic skiing, camping, and biking. In the past, I’ve enjoyed training for and participating in triathlon sprints. Eventually, I’d like to do an Olympic distance triathlon. I also enjoy reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
