Stephen W. Moore
I received my BA in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and started work on a Master’s of Urban Planning while at UWM. After realizing that I was more interested in conducting an ethnography of urban planners and the planning process I decided to return to the study of sociology.
My main interests are the sociology of sport, organizations and occupations, and political sociology. I am currently working on a paper examining freeway opposition movements in the 1960s and a study of the organizational culture of sporting governing bodies.
When not studying I like to read fiction, especially the works of Annie Proulx, knit, and attend as many sporting events as possible.
