Mesay Tegegne
In May of 2006, I received my BS degree in economics with a minor in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Then I went on to work at Watson Wyatt Worldwide (now Towers Watson), a leading human capital consulting firm, as a Junior Research Associate involved mainly in survey research in areas ranging from employee benefits and compensation to human capital strategies and organizational effectiveness.
Currently, I am a first-year graduate student in the department of sociology here at the University of Iowa. Although I'm still in the exploration phase, my primary interests are in economic sociology and organizations. I am also interested, however, in social networks and quantitative methods.
When I am not engaged in academic pursuits, I listen to music (jazz for the most part), learn to play a tune on my ukulele, catch a movie, or play tennis.
