Day 2
Encourage students to seat themselves quickly and give them time to organize themselves and their debate.
Begin debate by following the procedure below:
Each spokesperson will give an opening statement with assistance from their group members.
Each group will be given 5 minutes to respond to opening statements from the other group.
Each group will be given time to decide on closing arguments.
Each group will be given 5 minutes to give closing statements.
Instruct each group to write at least five pros and cons to how this debate was conducted.
Inform them that tomorrow's discussion will begin by focusing on how the debate was conducted. Then we will discuss the content of the debate and what implications this movement still has today.
