Why Iowa?

Having completed my MSW at The University of Iowa, I felt confident that the doctoral program in Social Work was going to be a good fit for me. The faculty and research opportunities were two major draws for me as well. I felt that the program here would provide the opportunity for exceptional mentorship. The faculty are highly skilled educators and researchers, who are invested in the quality of their students’ academic experience. They have always been open to talking with me about my academic interests and goals. They’ve given me great advice and provided me with opportunities that have helped me to achieve my goals. The students, faculty, and staff in the SSW create an environment that is friendly and supportive.
