My work focuses on university settings from an individual and organizational perspective. My research goal is to study the journey that individuals and organizations establish to increase culturally competency.  At the SSW I am the coordinator of the Critical Cultural Competent Certificate program. The program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to increase their effectiveness in relating across cultural differences and in increasingly diverse domestic and international environments.

The second area of focus is Domestic Violence in the Muslim Community. My goal is to understand how Muslims men and Muslim women differ in their definition of domestic violence and the prevalence and prevention of DV in Muslim American communities.
