I worked in social work practice for 22 years before I started teaching at Iowa, where I have been for the last 11 years. I teach practice courses like Family Centered Theory and Therapy. While I was working in practice, I specialized in trauma for over ten years. This is still an area of passion for me. I have done over a dozen National and International presentations on combinations of trauma, resiliency, spirituality and forgiveness. I have also done two conceptual papers on these topics. My current favorite class is Spirituality in Social Work Practice and I am so excited about my newest class, Trauma Informed Family Practice.
