Coordinates and manages information dissemination regarding admissions process/procedures for BA, MSW, Ph.D. programs and manages applicant files and data. Coordinates and manages the registration/course enrollment/course evaluation process insuring that departmental and university policies are adhered to by faculty and staff and coordinates and manages program related intra-departmental information systems. Staffs the Admissions Panels and maintains the applicant and student databases. Provides general support to the Program Administrator, Program Directors, and School.
Kate Kemp, MSW, LISW
Program Administrator and Admissions Director
Kate's duties include supporting the Director, PhD, MSW, and BA Program Directors and Distance Education Director in planning and administering those programs. She interprets and implements University, College, School, and CSWE policies and procedures, oversees BA and MSW admissions, assists with program assessment, and supports student advising, advancement and graduation processes . In addition to 20 years of social work practice in social work education administration and student advising, she has experience in working with persons with developmental disabilities, in family preservation, and school social work.

Operations Coordinator
Provides support to Director and adjunct faculty. Provides coordination and support for School operations, including space and equipment, and deploying and supervising staff. Serves on Administrative Team.
Christy Thies, MSW, LMSW
Des Moines Program Coordinator
Christy earned her BA in Social Work from The University of Iowa in 2001, her MSW from the University of Minnesota in 2005 and is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She promotes and helps prepare prospective students for the BA in Social Work and MSW programs in Des Moines as well as supports enrolled students, faculty and other aspects of the Des Moines Education Center programs.
Chuck Wieland
Operations Administrator
Administers the Operations of the School including budget preparation and overseeing of financial accounts. Oversees research assistantship and teaching assistantship appointments, other departmental financial aid and award processes, and can provide information regarding funding for student research projects.
