Description:
Pathways Adult Day Health Center serves physically and psychologically challenged adults over the age of 18, with the primary mission being to keep participants independent and in the community. Pathways is a sister program of Milestones Adult Day Health Center in Cedar Rapids and is a replication site of a national demonstration project. Pathways serves approximately 20 individuals daily, with space available for 35. Pathways is a not for profit agency, a program of Pentacrest, Inc., a subsidiary of Abbe Inc. Clinical experiences are available to undergraduate students. Pathways is an ideal setting for students wishing experiences with older adults, primary caregivers and gerontological community support systems.

Description:
Services include: Individual counseling, couple counseling, parent-child counseling, family therapy, group therapy, support groups, elderly peer counseling, psychological testing and evaluation, psychiatric evaluation and medication monitoring, evaluation of persons seeking voluntary admission to state mental hospitals, services to persons discharged from hospitals and to their families, consultation with other professional agencies and individuals in the community, community education on topics related to mental health, and clubhouse services for the chronically ill.
Also a contact with Grinnell College to counsel with students.

Description:
Sexual Abuse Victim Advocate. Train to be an RVAP advocate; answer the 24-hour Sexual Abuse Crisis & Resource Line (also the Iowa Sexual Abuse Hotline) and provide in-person systems advocacy for victims who are reporting an assault to the hospital and/or police station. May include court advocacy.
Assist the RVAP staff with planning and coordination of crisis services. Assist RVAP staff with administrative duties.
Information and Referral Coordinator. Update RVAP counselor referral guide, with a particular focus on pursuing information about local options for a wide range of healing techniques [e.g., herbalism, massage therapy, eye movement, desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), etc.]. Present information about healing techniques to RVAP staff and volunteers; present information to public. Organize and expand RVAP's lending library information bureau.
Assist the RVAP staff with planning and coordination of crisis services. Assist RVAP staff with administrative duties.
Rural Outreach Assistant. Focus on marketing and building community connections in Washington, Cedar, and Iowa Counties. May help staff RVAP offices in these counties.
