Financial aid is available for incoming undergraduates and graduates on a competitive basis. There are a number of 4-year scholarships available for undergrads, ranging from the amount of applied music fees to full in-state tuition. The scholarships are renewed each year if academic and performance criteria are met.

For graduate students, there is the TA position as well as fellowships; see the
application form for graduates.

For the year beginning Fall 2009 the Teaching Assistant position is open; all applicants for graduate horn study are automatically considered for the position. Applicants for the TA must have completed the applications process and audition by no later than March 10, 2009.

The UI Horn Studio also is able to offer small grants to current students for the purposes of attending horn workshops, competitions, or auditions, thanks to the generosity of Horn Studio "angels".
