For a comprehensive
knowledge of the horn today, it is important to have an
understanding of the natural horn and its rich history of
performance and composition. The University of Horn Studio
is fortunate to have two Seraphinoff natural horns + crooks, plus several
modern horn conversions to natural horns. Everyone has a
chance to acquire experience playing natural horn during
their time at UI.
Interested grads may
arrange extra lessons on natural horn from School of Music
Director Kristin Thelander, internationally renowned performer
and recording artist on the natural horn.
