The University of Iowa Department of Spanish and Portuguese invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor, 20th-Century Spanish American literature, Ph.D. in Spanish or related field, by August 2009.  Knowledge of Southern Cone or Andean literature desirable.  Background in literary theory desirable.  Opportunities for interdisciplinary teaching and research.

Associate Professor of Spanish to develop a program in creative writing in Spanish.  Requirements: M.F.A., Ph.D., or the equivalent in Spanish or related fields; evidence of excellence in teaching, research, scholarship, and creative writing.  Candidate must have taught writing workshops in Spanish and also be able to teach courses in Hispanic literatures and culture at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Lecturer in Business Spanish to teach introductory to advanced undergraduate courses.  Requirements:  M.A. or M.A. T. in Spanish; demonstrated excellence in teaching; experience in business translation and/or interpreting; translation certification.  Desirable: textbooks, pedagogy and other publications in the field.
