How do I make an appointment?             Fall 2009 Schedule

Make a 30-minute appointment on the sign-up sheet on the door of 123 Phillips for the current week or the upcoming week. We advise you to plan ahead, and not wait for the last minute to make your appointment.

Who is the GEP Language Support Center team?

The GEP Language Support Center is a team of graduate students in Spanish or a related field who are also teaching assistants in Spanish.

When should I make an appointment at the GEP Language Support Center?

You should make an appointment at the GEP Language Support Center when your Spanish TA is not available, when you cannot attend your TA's office hours, or when after seeing your TA during office hours you still need further clarification.

What should I bring to my appointment at the GEP Language Support Center?

You should bring your textbook and other class materials, along with any specific grammatical questions you have. The center will provide you with more review handouts if needed.

What happens at a GEP Language Support Center conference? What kind of help should I expect to receive?

The TA will probably ask you what your questions and/or concerns are. You should then present the TA with the topic that you do not understand or that you would like to review further. The TA will work with you to help you understand the grammatical point and will use visual materials at his/her own discretion.

Do I have to do anything in exchange for receiving help from the GEP Language Support Center?

There is no charge for the tutoring help that students receive in the GEP Language Support Center. We do ask that you "sign" and fill out a questionnaire that will help us monitor and improve the service we offer to students.

Please note that the GEP Language Support Center is not a tutoring center. A list of Spanish tutors is available at 111 PH.

If I have a question about the GEP Language Support Center, where do I go?
