  • [04/26/2013] Decisions about graduate funding have been released. 
  • [04/03/2013] King rooms at the Sheraton are running low, but double queen rooms are still available. Make sure to specifically request the latter if kings are unavailable.

  • [02/20/2013] Registration is open until April 1 as is the reservation page to book a room at the conference rate. See the accommodations page for information.
  • [02/19/2013]  Decision notifications are all out with responses due by February 22. If you submitted something and have not heard from us, please get in touch. We plan to post a list of panels by March 1.

Overview

The Department of Political Science and the University of Iowa are pleased to host the 13th Annual State Politics and Policy Meeting.

 

Recent iterations have been hosted at Rice University, University of Illinois Springfield, Dartmouth College, UNC Chapel Hill/Duke, and Temple University.

The 13th Annual State Politics and Policy Conference will be held May 23-25, 2013, on the campus of the University of Iowa.


Important Dates

Attendees should make their travel plans to arrive for an evening reception on Thursday, May 23 and depart late Saturday or Sunday, May 26. The program will include full days (8:30-5) on Friday and Saturday. Other dates of interest are below.

   December 10 Application process opens.
January 18 Application deadline.
February 15 Application decisions announced.
March 1 Program announced.
April 1 Registration closes.
April 23 Last date to book hotel reservation at block rates.

Conferences Fees

There is no registration fee to attend SPPC 2013. We plan to continue the tradition of providing stipends to support travel by graduate student participants. Stay tuned for more information.
