Tae Kwon Do is unique in the world of sports.  Along with teaching the techniques needed to excel in the martial art, Tae Kwon Do also teaches morals.  This is because the ultimate goal of a martial art is not victory or defeat, but the perfection of the practitioners.  When a student learns proper techniques in Tae Kwon Do they are learning an ancient fighting art, which was created at a time when the Korean people were made to face their enemies without weapons.  As a result, the techniques can be dangerous in the hands (and feet) of an undisciplined practitioner.  For this reason, just as we teach student how to punch, block, and kick properly, we also teach them discipline and ethics.

As a guideline for the morals taught through Tae Kwon Do there are certain rules, tenets, and oaths that practitioners are expected to commit to memory and integrate into their lives.  All of the following are used to instill discipline and morality in the students of Hawkeye Tae Kwon Do.

► Rules of the Do-jahng

► Five Tenets

► Ethical Rules

► Student Oath
