The 2007 Hawkeye Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference promises to be an innovative, educational, and entertaining gathering of tuba and euphonium players at the University of Iowa. With a theme of innovation, HRTEC will featuring special guests artists, ensemble, teachers, students and amateurs from across the Midwest. Since it coincides with the centennial of the University of Iowa School of Music, HRTEC will feature UI alumni Chester Schmitz (Boston Symphony Orchestra Principal Tuba, retired) and David Werden (former euphonium soloist with the U.S. Coast Guard Band, University of Minnesota.)
