Pre-Physical Therapy

Pre-physical therapy at The University of Iowa is not a degree program. The pre-physical therapy major code (124) signifies that the student is a "pre-professional" major. To qualify for admission to a graduate program in physical therapy the applicant must have completed or plan to complete before enrollment a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States.

Students interested in this area are encouraged to declare this interest and meet with a pre-physical therapy adviser, who will guide them through the preparation for and application to graduate programs in physical therapy regularly to ensure a smooth transition to a physical therapy school. Call the advising center at 353-5700 to make an appointment with a pre-physical therapy advisor.
