United Campus Ministry’s Core Beliefs and Commitments

We believe that the faithful Christian life is fundamentally holistic in nature and reconciles many of the divisions that characterize the modern world.  We engage in ecumenical ministry not out of mere necessity, but out of a deeply held commitment to the unity of the Church.  We promote the formation of a Christian community because we believe that the Christian faith is inherently communal in nature.  We are committed to an on-going dialogue between faith and learning because we believe that God is the Creator of the mind and expects us to express our love for God with both heart and mind.  We believe that God’s intention for the world entails peace and social justice, and we are therefore committed to promoting these ends. We value a spirit of openness in our relationships and our ministry because we recognize God as a God of openness and extravagant grace.
